Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – European business circles have asked the Indonesian government that the negotiations on Indonesia – the European Union Comprehensive Partnership Agreement (IEU – CEPA) can be completed soon and produce an agreement.
This wish was expressed by the Vice President of FESI (Federation of European Sporting Goods Industry), Mr. Manuel Pauser during a meeting with the coordinating minister for economic affairs Airlangga Hartarto in Brussels, Belgium.
“IEU CEPA is the key to encouraging trade, investment and other forms of economic cooperation between Indonesia and the European Union. Indonesia expresses its gratitude for the support of FESI to reach a settlement of the negotiations,” he said stated Airlangga in a press release, Wednesday (14/12/2022).
Airlangga realized that the negotiation process was taking longer than expected. However, the government will try to finish it before 2024.
“The negotiation process has indeed taken longer than initially expected. It is hoped that the negotiations will be completed in another 4 (four) rounds, or before 2024. Indonesia hopes for the support of the economic actors of the European Union so that the negotiation process can be completed quickly,” he explained.
