Suddenly 2 Unilever Indonesia Directors Resigned, What’s Up?

PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk (UNVR) announced that two company directors have resigned from their positions. Director and Corporate Secretary of UNVR, Reski Damayanti said the two high-ranking officials who resigned previously served as directors of the company.

In IDX’s information disclosure, quoted on Wednesday (18/5/2022), the two Unilever bosses who resigned were Badri Narayanan and Veronika Winanti Wahyu Utami. Reski said the company had received the resignation letters from the two company leaders.

The reason for Badri’s resignation relates to his appointment to a new position at an overseas affiliated company of the Company. Badri’s resignation comes into effect as of June 15, 2022.

“We hereby inform you that we, PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk. (the Company) have received a letter of resignation from Mr. Badri Narayanan as Director of the Company which will be effective as of June 15, 2022,” Reski said in a statement.

Veronika Winanti Wahyu Utami as resigning is effective as of July 1, 2022. While the reason for resigning from Veronika is due to personal reasons.

“The resignation will be asked for approval at the Company’s Annual General Meeting of Shareholders which will be held on June 15, 2022,” explained the disclosure.

With the resignation of the 2 leaders, Unilever Indonesia will make changes to the members of the Board of Directors and/or members of the Board of Commissioners with the resignation.
