The Sudanese Rapid Reaction Force announced its readiness to partially reopen airports so that “fraternal and friendly countries can safely evacuate their citizens.” This is stated in a statement by the special forces, which have been in armed confrontation with the regular Sudanese army for the last few days.
The Rapid Reaction Force said on Twitter that they were ready to open airports as part of the “humanitarian truce” announced 72 hours earlier.
Armed confrontation between the regular army and the RRF began last week. Its reason was the planned integration of the latter into the regular army. More than 400 people died in the clashes, more than 3.5 thousand were injured. The parties have already made attempts to agree on a truce, but all of them were thwarted.
