McDonald’s is one of the larger chains that started out as a modest burger stand. It currently serves customers in over one hundred countries around the world, generating approximately $ 20 billion in annual revenue.
The company was founded on May 15, 1940 in San Bernardino, California by brothers Richard and Maurice McDonald. The company has been providing franchises since 1953.
The McDonald’s chain’s profit for 2020 is over PLN 190 million. In 2019 it was PLN 231.5 million. Despite the decline in earnings, the company reported that sales in 2021 are higher than in record-breaking 2019.
McDonald’s Polska started operating in 1992, opening the first restaurant in Warsaw. Currently, there are over 500 restaurant chains in Poland employing 30,000 people. Nearly 90 percent of these are establishments run by 83 entrepreneurs under a franchise agreement with McDonald’s.
