The football association of the United Arab Emirates has fired national coach Ivan Jovanovic on Monday. Bert van Marwijk’s Serbian successor had only been employed since December and has not coached any games.
Jovanovic was instructed to lead the United Arab Emirates to a ticket to the 2022 World Cup and the 2023 Asia Cup. The remaining qualifying games are said to be played in March and June, but have all been postponed due to the corona virus.
The football association therefore has private to send 57-year-old Jovanovic, who signed a six-month contract in December, and his assistants in this matchless period, and look for new technical staff.
