“Right from the start, Tim gave us the impression that he was keen on the tasks at TuS N-Lübbecke,” said Rolf Hermann, sports director of TuS N-Lübbecke, who was pleased that Tim Roman Wieling would wear a TuS jersey from next summer. “He’s in the middle handball age and has already gained experience in both professional leagues. The overall package was right for us,” said Rolf Hermann about the future TuS player.
“I chose TuS because I find it attractive from a sporting point of view and I would like to help shape the project. I felt supported by the goals of TuS and I immediately got on really well with Rolf Hermann. The subsequent conversation with Michael Haass was also very good. With his personal experience, he’s a great coach and when you see where TuS stands, that’s confirmation,” said Tim Wieling about his decision to play for TuS N-Lübbecke from summer 2023. “TuS already has a good team, which is greatly complemented by a player like Fynn Hangstein. That fits well!” said Wieling, looking forward to his future team.
Tim Roman Wieling was born in Bielefeld and started his handball career at TuS 97 Bielefeld Jöllenbeck. From the B youth he switched to GWD Minden and played his way through the A youth and the second team to the Bundesliga team, of which he was a permanent member from the 2016/17 season. In order to get more match practice, Wieling switched to TSV Bayer Dormagen in the 3rd division in 2017. With the promotion to the 2nd HBL, Tim convinced those responsible at TVB Stuttgart with 236 goals in 37 Bundesliga games. He spent two years in Baden-Württemberg before joining ASV Hamm-Westfalen in 2021, with whom he was promoted to LIQUI MOLY HBL in 2022. Overall, Tim played 89 times in the LIQUI MOLY HBL and scored 108/4 goals. In the 2nd HBL he ran 86 times and scored 346/124 times.
