On Sunday, not only the Lemminge girls of the 1st Bundesliga went through the old town of Tübingen and the Neckar. The everyone’s race was a great way to start there as a team event and then to be able to cheer on the girls after the work was done. Due to a few parallel events, the Lemmings were not quite as well represented as at the last competition in Rheinstetten, but they were still able to achieve many good places.
Over the short distance (1.5 – 43 – 10), Holger Körner achieved a strong 5th place among 260 men and crossed the finish line in 2:07 h. That was enough for second place in his age group. Lars Heller crossed the finish line after 2:23 h and thus even won his age group. Chris Muck, Hannah and Doreen started over the short distance (750 – 22 – 5). This competition day was a bit of a physical challenge for everyone, as everyone had already had many intensive triathlons in their bones in the past few weeks. Nevertheless, the spectators ensured a good mood and fast times for the Lemmings: Chris crossed the finish line after 1:21 h and can be satisfied with 46th place among 215 starters and a 3rd place in his age group. The girls were also very happy when they looked at the results: Hannah finished third overall out of 101 women with a time of 1:17 h. Doreen also managed to place in the top ten: in the end she was 7th with a time of 1:22 h. Both girls were also able to celebrate second place in their age group rankings.
After the award ceremony, the Lemming fan club, who came by bike from Karlsruhe, went to the Bundesliga at midday. In the end, they too could be more than satisfied with their performance and once again it was a successful triathlon day for the Karlsruhe Lemmings with many top placings!
