The solidarity campaign ‘Donar es de Cine’, promoted by the Brotherhood of Blood Donors of Bierzo and Laciana and the El Rosal shopping center in Ponferrada, has successfully completed its last edition. So much so that it has been the year in which the most donations have been made, according to the management of the commercial space. 372 people came to donate at the mobile unit installed in El Rosal and a significant number did so for the first time.
«17% of those who donated did so for the first time. A fact worth highlighting in an increasingly aging society,” the organization stated, celebrating that the success of the initiative “guarantees that, during the coming weeks, the blood bank’s reserves will remain at optimal levels, without entering into booking”.
The good reception also guarantees the continuity of a solidarity campaign that was carried out for the first time in 2009. It runs biannually and donors receive a movie ticket, a hamburger and a drink in return for their action.
