The Dubai Marine Day, organized by the Dubai International Marine Sports Club at the beginning of this year as part of the 2022-2023 sports season calendar, witnessed the active participation of a team from the Dubai Ladies Club for the first time.
The participation comes within the framework of activating the Memorandum of Understanding between the Dubai International Marine Sports Club and the Dubai Women Establishment, which was concluded last year with the aim of cooperating in organizing activities that support institutional development on both sides, and cooperating in organizing marine sports events for women throughout the year, by employing their human expertise and technical capabilities. In a way that contributes to opening the way for women to participate in marine sports competitions, as well as benefiting from the modern sports facilities of the Dubai Ladies Club, a member of the Dubai Women Establishment.
The players of the Dubai Ladies Club team participated in the community races that were held as part of the activities of the Dubai Maritime Day on the waters of the Dubai Islands of the Nakheel Company, where they underwent new and exciting experiences in the effectiveness of “stand-up” paddle boards and “kayak” rowing boats, and gained experience of participating and getting used to the track and course of marine races. .
Mohammed Abdullah Hareb Al Falahi, Executive Director of the Dubai International Marine Club, praised the role of the Dubai Women’s Foundation and the support of the wife of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the Emirates Council for Gender Balance, President Dubai Women Establishment and President of the Dubai Ladies Club to promote women’s participation in sports fields and events.
The Dubai International Marine Sports Club, and within the closing ceremony of the Dubai Maritime Day, was keen to honor the participants in the presence of Ali Saeed bin Thalith, a member of the club’s board of directors, Mohammed Abdullah Hareb Al Falahi, Executive Director, and Muhammad Saif Al Marri, Director of the Sports Affairs Department.
