Two wins and a second place at the IFV indoor tournaments for the junior teams of FC Baar. Thanks to great work in the junior area, two teams were able to be placed in all categories and great places achieved.
With a lot of excitement, nervousness and anticipation, the Baar juniors traveled to the upcoming IFV indoor tournaments to compete with the best from the association area.
The starting signal sounded on the penultimate weekend in Küssnacht, where the oldest juniors in the FF19 category met to compete for the title “IFV indoor champions”. The two Baar teams both reached the intermediate round, where the game against each other was a heated affair. A Baar team made it through to the final and played against a strong Stans/Engelberg in the final. There they managed the much-celebrated 1-0 in the first third. The women from Baar then knew how to control the game and, with one or two exceptions, didn’t let anything burn. The team can now proudly call themselves indoor tournament champions 2023!
A week later, the youngest footballers in the association area, category FF12, met in Kerns for a showdown. The women from Baar, who also started with 2 strong teams, made it to the final and finally, with the necessary bit of luck, won both the semi-finals and the final by means of a penalty shoot-out. They showed remarkable nerves of steel in these showdowns and can be very proud of their performance.
The next day it was up to the middle category, the FF15, to award the title. The slightly worse goal difference meant that only one Baar team reached the intermediate round, but it did so with 4 wins in 4 games. In the final, the Baarer players had to admit defeat against FC Küssnacht and thus took the excellent 2nd place.
The junior department of FC Baar presented itself excellently at all 3 tournaments with all 6 teams, which led to 3 finals with 2 indoor champion titles and a vice indoor champion title. Congratulations to all players and coaches. Not to be forgotten are the sporting officials who paved the way to these successes in the background with their planning, future-oriented way of thinking.
For 40 years, FC Baar has been setting clear, clear signals in the direction of girls’ and women’s football and has supported its development to the best of its ability. With 7 junior teams, the club is one of the largest sponsors of girls’ and women’s football in the IFV association area. In addition to a strong junior women’s department, which produces successful footballers year after year, the 1st women’s team plays in the 3rd highest league in Switzerland and the 2nd team in the 3rd league. Anyone who wants to play performance-oriented football is in the right place in Baar, as are girls/women who are looking for a change from school and everyday life in football.
