Successful Flu and Covid-19 Vaccination Campaign Activated in Andalusia with Over 48,000 Immunized

The Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs of the Government of Andalusia, through the General Directorate of Public Health and Pharmaceutical Regulation and the Andalusian Health Service, activated a vaccination campaign against flu and Covid-19 no date in 380 points of the autonomous community with a result of “success”. Likewise, they remember that the vaccine is the most efficient and safest tool to avoid serious illness and hospitalization.

After the success of these sessions, the Ministry will open again next week on December 19, 20 and 21 vaccination against flu and Covid-19 without an appointment. By day, on December 12, 23,701 Andalusians were vaccinated against the flu, 57.52% more than a usual day, and 13,904 against Covid-19, 69.44% more. On December 13, 24,705 Andalusians were immunized against the flu, 64.2% more than a usual vaccination day, and 17,801 against Covid-19, 115.85% more.

With all this, The total number of flu vaccines given in Andalusia amounts to 1,536,614 and, against Covid-19, 996,848. Likewise, the coverage of flu vaccinated people over 60 years of age increases two points since last Monday to 51.7% and the coverage against Covid, up to 37.6%, increases one and a half points.

Since the launch of the campaign on October 9, vaccination has been carried out in a staggered manner, starting with the most vulnerable population, such as people in nursing homes and disability centers, large dependents in their homes. , people over 60 years of age or with chronic pathologies, pregnant and postpartum women, the child population between 6 months and 4 years and 11 months, health and socio-health professionals and other professional and risk groups (security forces and bodies, firefighters , staff and inmates of penitentiary institutions, etc.).

Since December 1, vaccination against flu was extended to smokers and against flu and covid to those who live with people over 60 years of age, patients with chronic pathologies or pregnant women.
