There was a lot going on over the roofs of the Münster harbor last Thursday when SC Preußen Münster invited the finals of its first series of tournaments. A first highlight was offered to the participants before they even held the controller in their hands: The location at the PSD Bank – the main sponsor of the series – could hardly have been better. The playgrounds, including the technology, were impressively set up on the top floor, commentators and moderators were ready, the catering was already prepared – all paired with the beautiful view of the port area. The desire for the final was already fueled.
The participants were greeted briefly by Julian Schlottbom (PSD-Bank) and Mario Heinemann (SCP), who addressed a few words to the eleven players at the beginning. Then the eagle bearer Nicolai Remberg, who had come by especially, began with the award ceremony of the respective qualifying tournament winners. In addition to the final ticket, which they had already bought, they were presented with a home jersey from the sports club. After that, “Rambo” was allowed to trigger the two groups and prove himself that he also has a talent on the console. The midfielder won the show match against a colleague from the PSD bank with 5-0.
With that performance, he could probably have qualified for the final himself, but on Thursday others were the focus. And they did their job really well. Many participants have already won other FIFA tournaments and are ambitious to semi-professional. Several players already knew each other from previous qualifying tournaments or had crossed controllers elsewhere. Above all, it was nice to see that, despite all the rivalry, the dealings were almost always friendly. The way it should be on and off the pitch.
In a group of five and six, it was then played in the “everyone against everyone” mode to determine who would be the first two in the group to advance. From the semi-finals onwards, they switched to the “Best of Three” mode in order to really determine the player with the strongest form of the day. After more than three hours and numerous duels, that was Hisham, who prevailed 2-1 in the final against xlucax10 and secured first place. In addition to a weekend with an Audi e-tron, there are also two VIP tickets waiting for the winner, but also for the second and third place.
