“Successful Anti-Rabies Vaccination Week in Salamanca: Over 32,000 Doses Applied to Cats and Dogs”

During the national anti-rabies vaccination week in the municipality of Salamanca, all the vaccines applied to cats and dogs in the city have been applied.

During the anti-rabies vaccination week for canines and cats older than one month old, there was great participation by the citizens in bringing their pets to be given the anti-rabies vaccine and avoiding contagion in the population of Salamanca.

For the municipality of Salamanca, a total of 38,200 doses were allocated, which began to be applied on the 23rd of this month to conclude on yesterday the 29th. At the cut off last Friday at two in the afternoon 85% of the doses had been applied to the municipality of Salamanca.

This percentage covers a total of 32 thousand 235 applied doses. Therefore, vaccination continues in some of the modules located in the UMAPS and CAISES of the oil city, or while supplies last.

During this vaccination, some of the six municipalities that correspond to Sanitary Jurisdiction V completed their application before the scheduled date, thereby demonstrating the importance of citizens in maintaining the health of their pets.

This anti-rabies vaccination was applied to pets that were from one month old, this condition applies to both felines and canines. For this vaccination there were more than 500 people, with 162 vaccination posts in total.

For this, the owner of the pet must accompany it to the vaccination post, in addition the temperament of the animal must be considered, for which it is appropriate to have the necessary preventive measures, take them on a leash or muzzle, in order to avoid unpleasant situations .

The main function of the vaccine is to stimulate the immune system to produce antibodies that protect against the rabies virus.
