Mahipal has benefited from high price of tomatoes and low availability of tomatoes in Andhra Pradesh. With this, Mahipal started supplying tomatoes to the Hyderabad market. Mahipal earned huge amount in one month from June 15.
Mahipal got more than 100 rupees per kg as the price of tomatoes soared. This season, Mahipal was cultivating tomatoes in about eight acres of land. The cultivation started on April 15 and the harvest started from June 15.
Mahipal, who owns nine acres of land, started cultivating tomatoes and other vegetables on forty acres four years ago. The remaining area is under rice cultivation. Mahipal says that around 7,000 boxes of more than 25 kg have already been sold.
