Jakarta

Aisyah Widya Nur Shadrina become one of the alumni Apple Developer Academy in Jakarta. During his time at the academy, he and his all-female team succeeded in developing Hearo to help communicate with writing friends.

Hearo leverages the front camera and machine learning on iPhone. With this application you can translate sign language into voice and text.

Thanks to this multi-purpose application, Asyah and his team were selected for the Apple Entrpreneur Camp in 2020. There they received code-level guidance from Apple experts and engineers, enhancing their ability to navigate applications and the user experience.

This year Shadrina and her team will attend the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) virtually. At the event that will take place from 7-11 June 2021, Aisyah is ready to learn more about Apple’s technology, frameworks and tools that can help develop innovative and inclusive applications.

Apple Developer Academy

The first Apple Developer Academy opened in Brazil in 2013, with the goal of providing aspiring entrepreneurs, developers and designers with tools and training to find and create jobs in the fast-growing iOS app economy.

Since then, Apple has opened more than a dozen academies around the world with two more in progress. For the first time, the Apple Academy will be opened in the US, Detroit Michigan to be precise, and another in South Korea.

This program has empowered students around the world with application development and entrepreneurship training, many of whom have started their own businesses, created and sold apps on the App Store, and gave back to their communities. With expansion plans underway, thousands more students around the world will now have access to these opportunities each year.

The new programs in Detroit and Korea will join more than a dozen existing academies in Brazil, Indonesia and Italy. Academy participants, whether in Naples, Italy, or Jakarta, Indonesia, learn the basics of coding at a professional and marketing level.

Apple helps ensure graduates have the full range of skills needed to contribute to their local business community. The curriculum provided during the course incorporates Apple’s values, encouraging students to design inclusively and make a positive impact in the world.

The tech giant from Cupertino offers two different training programs as part of the Apple Developer Academy, a 30-day foundation course covering specific topics, including an introductory course for those considering app development as a career path, and a more intensive 10 to 12 month academy. The program delves into coding and professional skills.
