The island of Thau was lively throughout this Saturday, December 18 for the premiere of the event “the island in celebration”, whose success bodes well for future editions. For this occasion, Jocelyne Gyzardin, Deputy City Solidarity Pole and Corinne Paraire-Azaïs Deputy Youth Pole, and Hervé Marques, Sports Assistant, came to spend a moment in the different sites, in order to observe the success and enthusiasm generated by this day, made possible by a partnership between the CCAS, the city, and the Agglomeration.
Children, adolescents and adults took pleasure in having fun together through wooden skill games and board games, during creative workshops organized at the Île aux jeux game library and at the EAJ Rigal. The children were also able to enjoy various activities such as tennis-ball, table football, but also making pancakes. The mobilization of the city’s sports department was important, in order to offer a varied panel of practices.
As for the Malraux media library, it hosted a show given by the Montpellier company “Concordance”, mixing dance and song. The performance was filmed by two young girls as part of a workshop led by social workers from the EAJ, in order to make a clip.
The evening ended at the Passerelle at the end of the day with four groups: the Triplettes, Itak, Forro, and Coralie Arguel. The latter, singer and actress, was the mistress of ceremonies for a warm and dancing evening. As a preamble to the show, the director of the CCAS expressed her satisfaction with the organization of this festival, which “proves that the island of Thau is a neighborhood full of life! “
