Subway Museum opens for Long Night – BVG company

On Saturday (August 24) it’s time to storm the museums again. During the Long Museum Night, the underground museum in the Olympia Stadium underground station is also open. It is now widespread all over the world – but it was created in Berlin: the Long Night of Museums. On August 24, night owls will once again have the opportunity to explore Berlin’s museums until the wee hours of the morning. The Berlin-made technology can be seen in the former lever signal box at the Olympia Stadium underground station. The subway museum also opens its doors on Long Night and it’s definitely not just for subway fans. Here you can, for example, try a travel switch or move the signal box lever. A historic subway train is also planned to travel to the museum: from around 5pm from the Olympic Stadium to around 10pm from the Zoological Garden. The museums open their doors from 6pm to 2am.

Tips for getting there

  • Berlin has a highly developed public transport network. All subway and S-Bahn trains, many trams and buses run all night from Saturday to Sunday.

  • In addition, four bus routes will take visitors again to museums in Charlottenburg, Mitte / North Prenzlauer Berg, Lichtenberg and Tempelhof-Schöneberg during the Long Night. A short shuttle is also offered from the Treptower Park S-Bahn station to the Archenhold Observatory.
  • Along the route, the Shuttle North and Shuttle South use faithfully restored BVG buses from the 1950s to the 1980s. You can find the lines, stops and travel times here.
  • With a Long night ticket The 75 participating museums can be visited and the Long Night train buses can be used.
