Subway delays affect Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) reported that this Monday morning there were quite a few complications in the public transportation service in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens.

The F and G subway lines were running with “extended delays” in both directions, but regular Brooklyn stops were made, the transit agency reported.

From an early hour, service on the F line was suspended, in both directions, between the Coney Island and Second Avenue stations in Manhattan. While the G line also opened its services between the Bedford-Nostrand and Church Avenue stations. Although the service was restored by mid-morning.

According to the MTA, the service problems were due to a “loss of power,” which caused signal problems on Church Ave.

While in Manhattan the lines 4, 5 and 6 worked with “extended delays” in both directions after a person was hit by a train at Grand Central station, the MTA reported.

According to the police report, a 40-year-old man was hit on the platforms, heading south, at Grand Central Station. The victim was transported to Bellevue Hospital with leg injuries and is expected to recover.

And in Queens, for the E, F, M, and R lines, few trains ran to Manhattan. And those that circulated did so at a slow speed due to signaling problems near the 67th Avenue station.
