Premiere. Director Dmitrijs Petrenko has staged Anton Chekhov at the Liepāja Theater Kaiju. The director places two young people – Kostya and Nina – in the center of the story. They are sure that only the art world will make them happy. They are ready to risk and pay the highest price for such a life. “I have a feeling that Kaija was written not almost 130 years ago, but today. Every character is recognizable and close,” says the director.
