There were high hopes for the first match of the 4th round of PKO Ekstraklasa. Radomiak was returning to play after a two-week break, irritated by the defeat to Jagiellonia. Górnik unexpectedly beat Pogoń Szczecin a few days ago and wanted more.
The clash in Radom began with the commemoration of the 40th anniversary of Radomiak’s premiere appearance in the league elite. The players were not able to join the celebration in the football aspect for a long time.
In the first part, the pitch was boring for many minutes. Górnik first threatened the hosts in the added time of the first half, when Aleksander Buksa aimed a header that was off target.
Radomiak created more chances. Leonardo Rocha’s headers were off target or caught by Michał Szromnik. The goalkeeper also dealt with a shot by Capita, who appeared on the pitch in the 7th minute, replacing the injured Vagner Dias.

During the break, two changes, which later turned out to be crucial, were made by Jan Urban in Górnik. Zabrze gained an optical advantage for a moment, but were still unable to make a shot on target.
Radomiak was also reluctant to attack, but in the 58th minute they unexpectedly struck a blow. Filipe Nacimento made a mistake in the play. Leandro got ahead of Josema and defeated Szromnik in a one-on-one situation.
The conceded goal did not affect Górnik, who did not rush to make up for the losses. Radomiak had the match under control. In the 68th minute, the home team could have closed the match. After a pass from the corner, Rocha shot, the defender saved Górnik by stopping the ball in front of the line.
The visitors finally started taking risks at the back and were made to pay when Zie Ouattara struck the side netting from a tight angle in the 72nd minute. The score was level moments later when Erik Janża crossed from the left and Luka Zahović headed it home.
Górnik felt stronger after scoring 1:1 and gained an advantage for a moment. However, it was Radomiak who could have scored when Christos Donis shot just wide of the post from distance in the 80th minute.
A few dozen seconds later, Górnik scored again. Lukas Ambros passed to Norbert Wojtuszek, who hit the ball under the crossbar from the penalty area! Maciej Kikolski had no chance.
With three points within reach, the Zabrze team didn’t allow the home team to do much and kept their one-goal lead until the end.
