Substitute Ronaldo cannot prevent Manchester United from losing points against Everton

Manchester United failed to win the game against rival Everton. Anthony Martial gave Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s team the lead at home, but Andros Townsend tied the score again.

United won midweek by hanging and strangling in the Champions League from Villarreal. Cristiano Ronaldo scored the winner for United in the 95th minute, but the Portuguese superstar was allowed to start on the bench against Everton, just like Paul Pogba, Jadon Sancho and Donny van de Beek.

This gave Martial another chance to prove himself and he paid back that confidence with a goal just before half-time. The Frenchman shot the ball hard behind goalkeeper Jordan Pickford after a brilliant assumption and assist from Bruno Fernandes, who made a nice save just before on a header from Edinson Cavani.
