The Child and Adult Protection Authority (KESB) of the City of Zurich is the largest specialist authority in the field of child and adult protection in German-speaking Switzerland, with around 100 employees. It is an autonomous and independent authority that is administratively assigned to the Department of Social Affairs. The KESB of the City of Zurich is made up of an interdisciplinary board, two vice-chairs, seven members and five substitute members.

Your tasks
- They represent the authority member during his or her absence, conduct ongoing child and adult protection procedures and bear professional responsibility for the employees of the relevant authority department.
- They conduct investigations and hearings and make their own decisions.
- You are responsible for preparing collegial decisions and are a member of the panel during your assignments.
- You will contribute to the strategic and conceptual development of the KESB.
- You maintain and expand your network with specialist departments, institutions and partner organizations and, with your professional manner, contribute to a positive image of the KESB among the population.
They bring
- A tertiary degree in social work with several years of professional experience, ideally at a KESB.
- Enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration with experts from the fields of law, psychology and health.
- High degree of flexibility in holiday planning and determining weekly working days as well as willingness to cover for staff during school holidays.
- High level of empathy and no fear of contact with people in all walks of life.
- A loyal, trustworthy and assertive personality.
