Submarines brought Russia from Sevastopol to the sea

Russia has withdrawn five of the seven submarines from Sevastopol into the sea, which are part of the Black Sea Fleet. Four of them are in a state of readiness for combat operations.

Now, two Project 636.3 Varshavyanka submarines from the 4th separate submarine brigade are moored to the berths on the eastern shore of the South Bay of Sevastopol.

The Russian Black Sea Fleet includes six submarines of the Varshavyanka project:

  • B-261 “Novorossiysk”;
  • B-237 “Rostov-on-Don”;
  • B-262 “Stary Oskol”;
  • B-265 “Krasnodar”;
  • B-268 “Veliky Novgorod”;
  • B-271 “Kolpino”.

Also in the fleet there is a submarine “Alrosa” project 877V “Halibut”.

On June 28, Alrosa entered sea trials after a long overhaul at the 13th shipyard of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. The boat passed the boom gates and entered the outer roads of Sevastopol.

It is noted that the boats of the Varshavyanka project are armed with Caliber cruise missiles. Alrosa is also the carrier of these missiles after modernization.
