Submarine “Titan”: Footage of the wreckage on the seabed – The final dialogues – 2024-09-21 08:11:30

The US Coast Guard released a new video of the debris from the submarine “Titan”.

The footage shows a piece of the OceanGate boat’s tail pinned to the seabed.

It is recalled that the boat exploded less than two hours after its descent towards the wreck of the Titanic, killing five people.

The crew’s last message

At the same time, the hearing continues in North Charleston, South Carolina investigating the causes of the tragedy, during which one of the last messages of the crew on the Titan was revealed, which read “all is well here”.

During his deposition, David Lochridge, former OceanGate operations director, spoke about the construction of the Titan, which he distrusted from the start.

“I believe that if OSHA had attempted to investigate the seriousness of the concerns that I have raised several times, this tragedy may have been avoided,” he said before the committee trying to determine what caused the submarine to collapse.

“A lot of steps along the way were missed” in building the submarine, Lochridge said. “I had absolutely no confidence in the way the Titan was being built,” he said.
