With an unprecedented move in Atlantic relations, Emmanuel Macron has decided Friday 17 September to call back to Paris “for consultations” the French ambassadors in Washington and Canberra. The French leader had already practiced muscular diplomacy in the past, he organized the same symbolic gesture during the crisis with the first Conte government, returning the ambassador to Palazzo Farnese as well as the one to Ankara a few months later, without this preventing him from reconnecting in dialogue with both Rome and even with Ankara followed.
