Four members of a family died and a fifth is in serious condition after being attacked by one of its members in a house in Far Rockaway, Queens.

The police reported that the events occurred around 5:00 in the morning on Sunday, December 3, when the police received a call for help from one of the family members.

Courtney Gordon, 38, allegedly stabbed five members of her family. An 11-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl died, as did two unidentified adults, a 30-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman.

The subject would have arrived at his relatives’ house a few days before.

After attacking his relatives, Gordon would have set fire to an armchair in the house. This prevented access to the New York police officers.

Once the fire was controlled, the police allegedly confronted Gordon who allegedly attacked them with a knife in an attempt to flee the scene.

The police officers were injured by the suspect who was shot dead.

Also presented, in a photograph, was the knife used in the attack: a kitchen knife. The motive for the attack is unknown at this time.

The only survivor is a 61-year-old woman, who is in serious condition at Mount Sinai Hospital. As of Monday morning, the identities of the victims and what triggered the deadly attack are unknown.
