The regionally owned spaces of Torgiovannetto, in the municipality of Assisi, and of Colpernieri in the municipality of Spello will be used for initiatives to benefit the community and psycho-physical well-being, in particular recreational activities and forest therapy, the latter recognized at internationally and since 2020, considered a fundamental tool for post-pandemic recovery. The Municipality of Assisi, as leader of the associated management of the Monte Subasio Park, has approved an agreement with the Regional Forestry Agency (AFOR) and the Umbria Region for the use of these properties; protocol which provides for the use of the properties for specific activities: the Torgiovannetto structure will be used to host recreational events and therapeutic activities, helping to create a meeting and well-being space for the community while the Colpernieri structure will become the center of forest therapy activities , an innovative approach to health and well-being based on the benefits of natural environments. The Municipality of Assisi will have the task of organizing events and therapeutic activities in the structures, coordinating forest therapy activities together with AFOR, promoting the initiative, raising awareness in the community of the benefits of contact with nature. The skills of AFOR (Regional Forestry Agency) will be to promote forest therapy activities in collaboration with the Natural Park, carry out ordinary maintenance of structures and external areas, manage utilities for water, gas and electricity and draw up a budget annual expenditure to be submitted to the Umbria Region. Extraordinary maintenance interventions will be the responsibility of the Umbria Region, ensuring sustainable and continuous management.
