Subaru has unveiled an unusual branded merch – shopper bags made from fabric used in airbags. The point is to use the surplus and help the environment
In appearance, these bags are like the usual T-shirt bag from the supermarket, only it is made of very durable fabric. It must be assumed that such a bag will withstand any purchases.
The dimensions of the shopper are 550×340×120 mm. The bags feature reflective stripes on the handles to make them more visible at night.
From the “design” here – only red or blue stripes on one of the handles and a tag with the Subaru logo. Modestly. But what other branded car company merchandise can you buy for $20? In addition, these bags were released not so much for those who want to flaunt an accessory with the Subaru emblem, but for those who care about the environmental damage caused by the automotive industry.
Here it is necessary to explain. Bags are manufactured by Toyoda Gosei. In fact, this is a manufacturer of automotive components, a major shareholder of which is the Toyota concern (it owns 43% of the shares). In addition to producing parts for cars, this company has taken care to find a use for unused materials – for environmental reasons.
This is how a whole line of products “Re-S” appeared: the words re-use (“reuse”) or re-born (“rebirth”), as well as sustainability (the concept of using natural resources, which implies the preservation of sustainable development of the environment) are beaten in the name . Fabric and leather, which for one reason or another did not go into production for their intended purpose, take on a new life, being used for various types of bags, wallets and the like.
Earlier this year, sportswear and footwear maker Asics partnered with Toyoda Gosei to unveil sneakers made from airbag fabric and steering wheel leather.
By the way, today it became known that the Maybach brand introduced new bags. Prices have not yet been announced, but it will certainly be expensive accessories from the world of luxury. Details can be found in the material “Look at the new collection of bags from Maybach”.
