Subaru is looking for a new BRZ, while more convincing photographs are traveling on the Internet

Subaru ended production of the first generation of BRZ in July this year. Much has leaked about the successor, but Monday’s contribution from the United States representation officially confirmed that the premiere of the second generation is going to take place this autumn.

The information is followed by the first photo of the news. It captures a masked prototype, or just its wheel. We see an extended front fender with a distinctive aerodynamic element. The alloy wheels themselves are similar to those on the Toyota Yaris GR.

It is with Toyota that the novelty is being developed again as part of a joint Japanese project. However, Toyota has not yet mentioned the successor to the GT86.

At the same time, much more convincing photographs of the new BRZ began to appear on social networks. One that is no longer officially distributed. The coupe was captured as part of a preview in California, which was held for selected guests.

Behind the camouflage you can recognize a classic silhouette that resembles its predecessor. For example, the stern is more distinctly shaped, the lamps are extended in width.

However, the classic concept with rear-wheel drive and manual transmission is again planned for the novelties. It has been speculated that the new “Toyobar” will get supercharged engines, but the latest information suggests that the duo will stick to atmospheric filling, thanks to a flat 2.4-liter four-cylinder from Subaru with the code FA24.

It has an output of 162 kilowatts, 217 hp and a torque of 240 Nm. This is slightly more than a first-generation 2.0-liter unit with 152 kW, 205 hp and 211 Nm of torque. However, it is this unit that raises the question of whether the new generation can enter Europe with its strict emission limits and fleet fines.
