Subaru and Toyota stop their factories – ᐉ News from Fakti.bg – Auto

Manufacturers of cars Subaru and Toyota will make adjustments to the work schedule of their factories in Japan. In the case of the Subaru brand, production will be suspended in all Japanese plants for 4 working days, starting on Tuesday, September 7. As for Toyota, it will have to close the doors of 15 home factories in September: as a result of such a measure, the brand will produce 140 thousand cars less than planned.

From September 7 to September 10 inclusive, Subaru will stop the assembly line at its factory in Gunma Prefecture, which assembles various vehicles, and the factory in Oizumi, where engines and transmissions are manufactured. It is not yet known whether this decision will affect companies in other countries.

Earlier this year, Toyota managed to keep its usual pace at production despite the shortage of electronics that has affected the automotive industry. All thanks to the large volumes of spare parts that the brand began storing after the accident at the Fukushima nuclear power plant 10 years ago.

Now, however, the Toyota brand announcements shortage of components and 40% reduction of its global production target. In addition to the deficit, an increase in the number of coronavirus cases in Southeast Asia also played a role.
