It all came down to Karim Benzema, in turn, moving to the Premier League and north London.

– Real Madrid wanted to sign me and everything went in the right direction. They thought about selling Benzema to Arsenal, everything was in place.
The 37-year-old continues:
– When the WC started, Barcelona joined the race and I preferred Barca. When the incident with the bite (on Leonardo Bonucci) happened, Real Madrid’s interest dropped while Barça became more interested. In the end I had both options and then I chose Barça because it was my dream.
In July 2014, Suárez then left Liverpool for Barcelona in a £75 million transfer. He went on to score 195 goals in 283 games during his six seasons with the Catalan giants.
