Suárez and Messi Reunite at Inter Miami Training Camp: First Training Session Highlights

Luis Suárez and Lionel Messi materialized this Saturday, early in the morning, the image that they had projected for four years: that of being teammates again and meeting in Miami. The two jumped together at the Inter Miami training camp to start the preseason with the rest of their teammates.

They were the last to leave the locker room. The rest of the players had previously done so with the other two former Barcelona players in front, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets, who greeted the rest of their teammates.

Since Suárez left Barcelona in 2020 for Atlético de Madrid, four years have passed until this reunion, a time in which he wore the Nacional shirts in Uruguay and Gremio in Brazil.

Messi’s departure to the training field was intuited a few moments before when his inseparable bodyguard, Yassine Cheuko, could be seen already on the grass. This year he will continue to accompany the Inter Miami star.

The Argentine and the Uruguayan remained together at all times, smiling and joking in a training session directed by the Argentine Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino.

A great round with all the members of the squad began the session. The former Barcelona fans were together in many moments of the session, dramatizing the joy of sharing a team again.

Later they performed first-touch passing exercises in pairs, forming Suárez with Messi and Busquets with Alba.

Martino supervised the exercise walking between the couples and stopping for a few minutes with those who were already his pupils during his time at Barça.

This was the first training session of a season in which Inter Miami starts as the main favorite to be MLS champion, as well as the rest of the competitions it will face: Concachampions, US Open Cup and Leagues Cup.
