One of the candidates who has been mentioned as a potential replacement for the coaching post is club legend Xavi Hernández.
Now Luis Suarez has commented on the situation and given advice to his former teammate not to return to Barcelona. Suarez claims that there is a “war” going on between Ronald Koeman and President Joan Laporta that is harming the players.
– As a football fan and after all he has accomplished as a player, I do not think that today, tomorrow or the day after tomorrow is the right time (to return), says Luis Suarez according to Spanish Sport.
– He (Xavi) is wise and knows the difficulties in the club. He is smart and will wait for the right moment. He is friends with many in the club and would have to make difficult decisions. I see him as a very qualified coach and returning to Camp Nou in a different context will allow him to be as good as a coach as he was as a player.
On Saturday, Atletico Madrid will host Barcelona in La Liga. Former Barça player Luis Suarez will then face his old club.
