Following the success of the Beijing station, the international fashion culture exhibition “Style In Revolt” officially landed at Chengdu SKP-S T-10 Cultural and Art Space this month. The exhibition traces the origins of streetwear and street culture, showing the evolution of street fashion over the past 40 years. The exhibition mainly uses the multi-sensory experience brought by the exploration of various media techniques to reflect the style of street culture in daily life, presenting to the audience the birth process of various dimensions of youth culture in the 1980s and its great subversive moments, with a forward-looking view. The avant-garde art works with attitude arouse the audience’s thinking and unlimited imagination.
This exhibition revolves around the theme of “Style In Revolt” and has three major exhibition areas: “The Genesis”, “The Boom” and “Now & Future”, which respectively represent It represents three different stages of the development and evolution of street fashion culture. Each exhibition area is intertwined with each other, seamlessly connecting the development of street popular culture – from the first time the street became a stage for music, art and fashion, to how underground street culture swept the world, and finally to the discussion of the future of current street culture, allowing the audience to dissociate Among them, you can immerse yourself in the popular codes of street culture in different periods and explore new possibilities of street culture.
Most of the art works displayed in each exhibition area come from well-known artists in various fields at this stage, including Keith Haring, known as the father of graffiti art, British punk godfather Malcolm McLaren, emerging artist Donald Joseph White, etc., and are not limited to a single form carrier. , the exhibition works cover many fields of street culture such as music, graffiti, stadium, fashion, hip-hop and so on. Through these pioneering works, the audience can have cross-time and space conversations with opinion leaders and industry pioneers from different periods, and experience the artistic practices accumulated by the increasingly diverse trend culture of the 1980s.
