After months of hanging, the lights are now green for the blues: the Stuttgarter Kickers and their A-Juniors are about to be promoted to the U-19 Bundesliga. The relief is great.

Stuttgart – The association still has to make a final decision, but at the video conference on Monday evening with all the clubs involved, there was no decisive resistance to the promotion of the A-Juniors in the end Stuttgart Kickers: So you are allowed to play in the U-19 Bundesliga South / Southwest in the season starting on August 15th. The team of trainer Mustafa Ünal was clearly on the way to promotion with the optimal yield of nine wins in nine games of the season and six points ahead of SV Sandhausen when the round of the A-Junioren-Oberliga Baden-Württemberg was canceled last October. The case of the juniors differed from that of the active group in two main respects. The league sponsor of the higher division – i.e. the A-Junioren-Bundesliga – had signaled for a long time that it would allow promotion.

Unlike the league sponsors of the Herren Regionalliga Südwest, who had denied SGV Freiberg and the first team of the Stuttgarter Kickers promotion or participation in the promotion games. The second difference: the state associations from Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate / Saar and Bavaria had already decided to expel promoted players to the U-19 Bundesliga. The decision will be made in the promotion games between Hessen Kassel and SV Elversberg (first leg 0-0) and SpVgg Unterhaching (with coach Sandro Wagner) against FC Schweinfurt 05 (first leg 2-0 for Haching).

The Kickers, on the other hand, have finally had planning security after months of hanging and are looking forward to the start of the season on August 15th. The 21 teams play against each other only once in a simple round. It comes back to the always explosive derby with the VfB Stuttgart.
