Sturdy Wind Turbine Survives Typhoon Talim in South China Sea, Saving 50,000 Tons of CO2 and Powering 80,000 Families

The structure is located in the South China Sea in the Mingyang Qingzhou 4 wind farm and has just survived Typhoon Talim. One of the properties that the manufacturer of the turbine uses to demonstrate safety is therefore the sturdiness of the thing.

The turbine will produce enough green energy to save 50,000 tons of CO2 each year and power 80,000 families with 16 megawatts, the company estimates. The pole on which it stands is about the same height as the largest building in Belgium: the Zuidertoren, which is 150 meters high.
