The United States Postal Service (USPS) has onc again turned to the cosmos for inspiration, unveiling two new stamps featuring breathtaking images captured by NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope.These stamps not only celebrate the telescope’s groundbreaking contributions to astronomy but also bring the wonders of deep space to mailboxes across the nation.
One of the stamps showcases the spiral galaxy NGC 628, located 32 million light-years away in the pisces constellation. “Webb’s observations combine near- and mid-infrared light to reveal glowing gas and dust in stark shades of orange and red, and also finer spiral shapes with the appearance of jagged edges,” NASA explained.
