Study trip to Sabers for students at an Agricultural high school

From March 7th to 9th, the students of the Terminale classes, Professional Bac stream, went on a study trip to Sabers (Landes). A pedagogical and cultural objective.

The Moissaga students, accompanied by their teachers, visited six different companies during this trip, specializing in the three options that meet the expectations of the learners: field crops, horticulture, landscaping. They also took breaks to relax or play rugby, especially at the Biscarrosse pond and around the Arcachon basin. The discovery of oyster farming at the Maison de l’Huître and the visit to the port of Larrosse completed this trip.

Martine Blanc, Principal of the Lycée, explains: “We want the knowledge gathered from the speakers of each company to bring an openness and a new perspective to learners in a different context of our department.”

The large size of these companies makes it possible to discover often very modern practices with sophisticated equipment, particularly in the field of precision agriculture.

“Our young people will thus exchange and enrich themselves and it is collectively that they will prepare for the final exams of the Professional Baccalaureate”, underlines Martine Blanc.

The establishment gives you an appointment for the next events: TAF show on March 30 in Montauban or Truck tour “L’Aventure du vivant” on April 20, 21 and 22 in Montauban. An opportunity to discuss with the actors of agricultural education.
