Whooping cough is a serious infection of the upper respiratory tract and lungs. It produces symptoms similar to the common cold and causes a persistent spasmodic cough.

Despite the fact that, in our country, the whooping cough vaccine is part of the national vaccination scheme, the disease shows an increasing trend.

For this reason, Costa Rican pediatricians and doctors are participating in a study to test the efficacy of a novel intranasal vaccine against whooping cough.

This research contemplates the participation of 300 children and young people, aged between 6 and 17 years.

Those interested in participating as volunteers in this study can send an email to [email protected], or call 2296-0100, to request more information.
