A recent study revealed that menstruation at an early age makes women more likely to suffer from two very serious diseases at some point in their lives.

The study showed that early menstruation is a factor that puts women at risk of developing type 2 diabetes and stroke.
The study researchers reached this alarming result by analyzing data from more than 17,300 women aged 20 to 65 years between 1999 and 2018.

The researchers found that the risk of developing type 2 diabetes was 32% higher in women whose menstrual cycle began at age 10 or younger.
The research team noted that the risk of developing diabetes increases to 14% at the age of 11 years, and reaches 29% at the age of 12 years, according to the “Russia Today” website.
While the researchers found that the risk of stroke in women whose menstrual cycle began at the age of less than 10 years was approximately three times higher among women with diabetes.

Experts believe that the reason these women develop type 2 diabetes and stroke is due to higher levels of the hormone estrogen and their exposure to it for a longer period.
