Study Finds High Prevalence of Vitamin D Deficiency in Obese Individuals

Thus, in overweight and obese people, vitamin D deficiency occurs more often compared to people of normal weight. “The study carried out in the clinic confirms the existing theories that vitamin D deficiency is more common among people with weight problems. Overweight and obese people frequently associate a low level of vitamin D in the blood of at least three reasons 2: its sequestration in adipose tissue, inadequate intake and reduced synthesis in the skin due to lack of exposure to the sun.
