Studio Red Barrels, the creators of The Outlast Trials, shared their plans for the release of the game on consoles. Unfortunately for fans of cooperative horror, they will have to wait: as the release window for the console version, the studio representatives called the “beginning” of 2024. The game will be released on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
The studio emphasized that they want to implement crossplay between players on all platforms, and that thanks to the comments of the players in the “early access” version, they had a lot of ideas for improving the current version of the project.
The authors also stated that closer to Halloween, a special update will appear in the game: it will include a new challenge program, new MK tests, updates for a number of programs, as well as a special Halloween event. Players can also expect new recipes, cosmetics, decoration items, the Sleep Room mini-game, as well as numerous QoL changes, balance tweaks, and more.
