Klaasje (25), who is currently studying acting in the Netherlands, has committed himself for another year. In the meantime, anyone who is interested can register to succeed her at K3. Those registrations are going very well. “We have almost 15,000 registrations,” says Verhulst. And the pond for fishing can safely be even larger, because the registration form will remain online for a number of “weeks”.
60 percent of the registered candidates are girls, 40 percent are boys. And the latter percentage is quite significant.
“From a purely statistical point of view, the chance is greater that it will become a girl,” argues Verhulst. “It doesn’t necessarily have to be a boy,” he tries to quell the rumors. If it turns out to be a boy, changes will occur. “Most boys sing lower. Then after all these years we get a different voice color. Now there is nothing wrong with a different one. sound. Some texts will have to be adapted. “
Verhulst leaves the door wide open: Dutch, Flemish, with a tan or transgender, everyone is welcome. “You have to be able to sing, dance and fit into the picture”, those are the conditions at Studio 100. After 22 years, the K3 brand will not immediately be refined. “K3 has proven that it can handle personnel changes”, Verhulst concludes.
