Students still have to pay interest on student loans, especially MBO students are the victims

News from the NOStoday, 10:43

From 1 January the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science will increase interest on student loans. For higher vocational education and university students, the interest is 0.46 percent. For MBO students it is more: 1.78 percent.

HBO and WO students prior to September 1, 2015 will also pay the higher rate on student debt.

The fact that interest rates differ from each other is due to the fact that when the loan system was introduced in 2015, it was decided to calculate interest differently.

It is the first time since 2016 that interest rates are above 0%. Everyone who pays student debt has a fixed five-year interest period.
