Students occupy the Science Po campus to protest “against fascism”

Students from Sciences Po Dijon (Côte-d’Or) began to occupy the premises of their school this Wednesday evening. The 32 students intended to stay inside the amphitheater and throughout the second floor of the building all evening but also overnight, reports The Public Good. They thus intended to “Denounce the arrival of the far right in the second round” of the presidential election, explained the protesters.

Work and debates

This mobilization on campus was voted on during a general meeting. In addition to the occupation of the premises, the protest movement should take the form of activities such as games or karaoke. Spaces will be set up to hold debates or to allow students to work.

A banner “Sciences Po occupied against fascism” was affixed to the outside facade of the school. The students expressed their desire “to keep on the agenda the social and ecological questions which will be eclipsed even though they are fundamental”.
