Students go crazy at Skoda Scala: this is the Slavia

Take a Skoda Scala, a group of students who are apprenticed to Skoda and have a budget sufficient to come up with a concept car. The result is here: the Slavia. A Scala that has been transformed into a not-so-crazy looking two-seater ‘speedster’. The 31 students involved, part of the Skoda Academy, worked with the design department of the Czech brand to shape their vision of the Scala.

In addition to the clear body changes, nice details have also been incorporated into the Slavia. For example, we see various colors of lighting under the car, but also behind the wheels and in the grille. The most striking detail is the brand name on the back of the car. It lights up red and also functions as a third brake light. The occupants sit in two racing seats and a subtle rear spoiler also emphasizes the Slavia’s sportier character. Incidentally, it is simply a well-known story: a 150 hp 1.5 TSI sends the forces to the front wheels via the seven-speed DSG automatic transmission.

It is the seventh year in a row that the Skoda training branch has carried out such a project. Previous concept cars designed by students were the Citijet, of Funstar, of Atero, of Element, of Sunroq and the Mountiaq. As was also the case with those study models, we should not expect the Slavia in the showroom.
