PETO.— Students from the José María Morelos y Pavón primary school developed the coexistence regulations for the library that will be on campus, as part of the “Books that transform” project, of the Somos el Cambio program.
The school is run by the director, José Manuel Hernández Ocampo.
Teacher Juan Diego Pech Sánchez carried out the activity with the support of the other teachers and support staff of this campus.
The activity consisted of agreeing on the library’s rules of coexistence.
Additionally, the children looked for motivational phrases related to reading and posted them on the walls of the school, in order to motivate the habit of reading.
Likewise, credentials were given to all students so that they can use the books in the new library. The campus did not have a space that specifically fulfills this function.
This activity aims to get the students to decorate the library, leaving a legacy for them and future generations, the mentors indicated.
In this way, students, mayors, group and support teachers and directors are transforming an appropriate space for students to enjoy books.
Teachers invite the community at large to donate books for the school library.
They can donate stories, dictionaries, anthologies, among other texts that could be useful to students, the teachers explained.
People who want to donate books have until March 14 to go to the primary school.— Miguel Ángel Moo Góngora
