Commission X DPR RI Vice-President Dede Yusuf highlighted the case of a student who kicked a grandmother in South Tapanuli (Tapsel). According to Dede, character education is starting to disappear, so it lacks a measure of morality and ethics.
“When lessons in school focus only on academics, character education starts to disappear, teachers impart discipline and human rights are enforced. As a result, our children have no standards of morality and ethics,” Dede told the journalists, Sunday (20/11 /2022).
Dede called for the elimination of moral education to be reviewed.
“That’s why we need to revise the curriculum that eliminates character education,” he said.
Dede evaluates that the student has not understood what is good and right. Furthermore, you have called for the scouting of extracurricular education to be strengthened.
“Children of that age do not understand what is good and right. Scout extracurricular education must also be strengthened, not only the scout uniforms but the scout education that must be formed”, he added.
Student kicks grandmother in Tapsel Arrested
Police arrested the student who kicked his grandmother, as evidenced by Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud Md. The student was arrested in South Tapanuli (Tapsel), North Sumatra.
South Tapanuli (Tapsel) AKBP Police Chief Imam Zamroni said on Sunday (20/11/2022) that his party had investigated the video, reported by detikSumut. Currently, six people have been arrested.
The priest says there are actually two videos with the same victim. He said the first video was shot in September, but it went viral at the same time yesterday. In this video there are four people beating their grandmother with wood.
Secondly, the video was shot on Saturday (11/19) yesterday around 11am WIB. In the video there are five people and one of them kicks the grandmother.
“Then last Saturday around 11 the incident occurred, which can be seen in the video of the prosecution that kicked one of the perpetrators against the mother of the same victim of the previous incident, there were five people. in the same group of students or young people and from the two incidents there were six people perpetrators”, said the priest.
Imam said the authors were students of a SMK in Tapsel. I am in grade 11 with age 15-16.
