Al-Akhbar (Nouakchott) – The Student Initiative to Combat Zionist Infiltration and to Defend Just Causes described the participation of a Mauritanian delegation in a training program in the occupied Palestinian territories as a miserable normalization step.
A statement issued by the student initiative, of which Al-Akhbar received a copy, added that the aforementioned step is an outright betrayal of the nation’s constants and sanctities, “and a blatant breach of the consensus of the authentic Mauritanian people who reject all forms of normalization with the Zionist entity.”
In its statement, the initiative said that what our people in Palestine are subjected to at the hands of the criminal Zionist entity, in terms of aggression and persecution, “is something that obliges all Muslims and free people around the world, and everyone with an honorable and proud soul, to reject and denounce it, and to do everything possible to support the sanctities and support the Palestinians.”
The initiative called on the official authorities to hold the participants in the Zionist program accountable for their treachery.
The statement warned, “Anyone who begged himself to relapse in the mud of normalization of the dire consequences of every betrayal of the constants,” adding that the Islamic peoples “will remain on the lookout for every traitor and beggar at the expense of their faith and their first central cause.”
The initiative statement called on the living forces in the country to confront all manifestations of normalization with the Zionist entity, and also called for a protest in front of the Mauritanian Ministry of the Environment on Tuesday morning.
The Zionist media circulated during the past twenty-four hours news of the participation of a Mauritanian delegation in an event related to the climate set up by the Zionist Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This participation comes in light of frequent talk in the Israeli media about Israel’s strenuous efforts to normalize relations with many African countries, including Mauritania, amid talk about the progress of negotiations regarding normalization with Mauritania and the presence of German pressure in this direction.
The Mauritanian government, through its official spokesperson, denied the information circulated about the existence of these negotiations, while Germany contented itself with denying the existence of any connection between the visit of its assistant foreign minister, Katia Cole, to Mauritania earlier this month, and the pressure on the Mauritanian government to normalize relations with the Zionist entity.
