A student attending school at the Dongduk Women’s University campus in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul died two days after being hit by a truck.
According to the Seoul Jongam Police Station on the 7th, at around 8:50 am on the 5th, A (21), a student at this school, was hit by a garbage truck coming down from a hill on campus.
A was taken to the hospital immediately after the accident, but was declared brain dead. She died at around 7:20 p.m. on the 7th while receiving treatment afterwards.
The police are investigating an 81-year-old man who was caught driving a truck on charges of causing injury under the Act on Special Cases for the Handling of Traffic Accidents. It was investigated that Mr. B was not drunk at the time of the accident.
The man stated that he stepped on the brakes, but it was reported that there was no record of brakes in the vehicle investigation by the police.
The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident by checking CCTV and black boxes around the accident site.
